Swiss PV Conference – FSP-H PV façade system – Protection of roof cladding

Our news in March 2024

The importance of solar facades is growing and, with this in mind, we will be presenting the FSP-H PV facade system for the first time at the 22nd Swiss Photovoltaic Conference. Protective fleece or classic building protection mat? This is the question posed when protecting roof cladding during PV installation on the roof – but for us the answer is clear.

Enjoy your read!
Your Schweizer Solar-Team

  • We are looking forward to the Swiss Photovoltaic Conference. The annual two-day summit of the Swiss photovoltaic industry sheds light on the political framework, the market and its challenges, research priorities and the integration of solar energy into buildings and electricity grids. Around 55 exhibitors from all solar industry areas have registered for the 22nd conference on 21/22 March in Lausanne. We will be presenting our PV facade system FSP-H for the first time.

Switzerland’s PV research and development scene will be presenting its current scientific work in a separate poster exhibition. This is where we come in with MC 2.0, a research project that exploits a mass customisation approach to significantly reduce the costs associated with solar facades, roofs and windows.

All information about the conference (DE)

  • Photovoltaic systems on roofs pose a challenge for the protection of the roof. Two common options for this are the use of protective fleece or traditional building protection. We compare the options and explain why the Central Association of the German Roofing Trade (ZVDH) recommends the use of plastic fleece. This is one of the reasons why we also use fleece to protect roof cladding on our flat roof systems, thus achieving permanently waterproof roofs.

  • Solar-active facades have decisive advantages over conventional building envelopes. They produce sustainable electricity every day and pay for themselves. They also make a modern architectural statement.

The new FSP-H PV facade system from Schweizer is based on the standard supporting structure for facades. It is very light and, thanks to thin-film technology, shade tolerant and temperature stable. Its simple design facilitates easy installation and removal, and wiring between modules is quick and uncomplicated.

The market launch will take place in an initial phase on the Swiss market, while market entry in other countries is planned for a later date.
