Schweizer announces co-operation for solar roof tiles
Ernst Schweizer AG has agreed a partnership with PA-ID Process GmbH, a specialist in the development of products and systems in the field of renewable energies, for the new solar roof tile.
With the roof tile presented at recent Intersolar Europe, Schweizer is launching an aesthetic alternative on the market that combines traditional roofing and PV installation in a single work step. The new solar roof tiles replace conventional roof tiles and are mounted directly on the roof battens just as easily. This means that no additional substructure is required. The uniform visible surface also creates a visually integrated roof. The system is equally suitable for new builds and renovations and, alongside Solrif, expands Schweizer’s range in the in-roof sector.
The solar roof tiles were developed by PA-ID Process GmbH, based in Kleinostheim near Aschaffenburg (Germany). The company has around 40 employees and specialises in research and development of special machines as well as products and systems in the field of renewable energies.
Under the terms of the collaboration, PA-ID will remain in charge for the further development of the product. Schweizer is responsible for the production and distribution of the solar roof tiles. Production in Hedingen will initially be manual and later automated. The start of production and sales are planned for late summer 2024.
